In the thesis, we studied about the miniaturization of the Metal Mounting Tag which is designed by one of my senior previously. The size of the previous design is 20mm*40mm*3mm, and it has 6dBi antenna gain back of a metallic plate and 4dBi antenna gain in free-space respectively. In the both two situations that we just described, the typical readable ranges 6 meters are read stably , but there is a problem for applying the antenna design in various application ---- Size!In the thesis, we focus on a special application to mount the tag on an airport trailer rail with a limited width. Thus we desire to reduce the width of the tag antenna. For designing and studying, the Full-Wave simulation software is employed for simulate the proposed antenna configuration, and the anechoic chambers of NTUST Communication and Electromagnetic Technology Center is also utilized for verify the performance on the new design. In the thesis, we also discuss the details of the proposed antenna configuration “step by step”, I wish the viewpoints that we interested in could offer more instincts for the consulter to design a similar one.
