從過去台灣產業鏈來看,附加價值較高的研發及行銷大都掌握在國際大廠的手裡,台灣過去所能參與的部份是附加價值較低的製造部份。因此,欲提升台灣中小企業附加價值,在發展上勢必得往研發高經濟價值的方向升級,並輔以智慧財產權的取得,才能在瞬息萬變、競爭愈來愈激烈的環境中脫穎而出,新產品的設計研發就成了企業創造價值,維持競爭優勢的手段。而新產品開發的成功率與管理階層對資源的妥善規劃與運用有明顯的相關性,如何在新產品開發中運用正確的產品開發策略及資源投入取得專利技術主導權,創造新產品開發績效,卻是相關文獻中較少探討之課題。本研究以此為動機,試圖由過去學者所提出的理論整理出一個資源投入程度對新產品開發績效的影響架構,配合實證方式來驗證這些假設,其主要的研究目的:首先探討智慧財產權的策略與管理、產品設計及新產品開發策略對新產品開發績效之影響。其次再探討資源投入程度對前述自變數與依變數新產品開發績效間關係之影響程度。
本研究的母體以台灣1000大企業為問卷調查對象,採取隨機抽樣其中500家大企業,共計發放500份問卷。問卷詢問對象為公司法務部及研發部主管,並以公司為單位,一家廠商寄出一份樣本,回收之有效問卷為135份,問卷之有效回收率為27%。
研究結果發現智慧財產權的策略與管理、產品設計、新產開發策略對新產品開發績效有顯著的影響,且資源投入對前述三個自變數與新產品開發績效之關係亦有影響。有鑑於此,本研究鼓勵台灣企業,掌握自身的核心能力制定明確有效的競爭策略,同時做好技術研發人才的培訓,創新求變,對專利導向的市場資訊制定有效的管理機制,配合適當的資源投入,將可以提升經營績效和財務績效,這也是企業永續經營,維持競爭優勢的不二法門。
Seen from the industrial chain of Taiwan in the past, the R&D and marketing of higher added value were controlled by the international leading manufacturers, while Taiwan just participated in the manufacturing of lower added value. Therefore, the small and medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan, for the purpose of improving their added values, must develop toward the directions of R&D and high-end manufacturing and acquire the necessary intellectual property rights. Only by doing so, they can become eminent in the ever-changing environment of severe competition. The design and R&D of new products has become the means for an enterprise to create values and maintain competitive advantages, and the success rate of the R&D of new products is obviously related to the management's proper planning and utilization of resources. However, it has seldom been discussed in the related literatures how to acquire the leading position of patent technologies and create good performance of new product development by utilizing correct strategies of new product development and resource input. This research, intended to probe into this issue, tries to work out a model on the influence of resource input on the performance of new product development by collating the theories raised by the scholars in the past, and uses empirical analysis to testify the hypotheses. The research has two main purposes: first, to discuss the influences of the strategy and management of intellectual property rights, product design and the strategy of new product development on the performance of new product development; second, to discuss the influence of resource input on the relations between the aforesaid three independent variables and the dependent variable – the performance of new product development.
In this research, 1000 big enterprises in Taiwan are used as the population of questionnaire investigation, and 500 samples are selected by random sampling. Totally 500 copies of the questionnaire are sent to the directors of legal affairs department or R&D department of the selected companies, one copy each company; and 135 valid ones are called back, with an effective callback rate of 27%.
From the research result we find that, the strategy and management of intellectual property rights, product design and the strategy of new product development have significant influences on the performance of new product development, and the degree of resource input also has an influence on the relations between the aforesaid three independent variables and the performance of new product development. Therefore, it is the author's suggestion that Taiwanese enterprises understand their own core capabilities to work out definite and effective competition strategies, do well the training of technical R&D personnel, make innovations and seek for changes, establish effective management mechanism for patent-oriented market information, and invest resources properly, so as to improve their operation performance and financial performance. This is the one and the only way for an enterprise to realize sustainable operation and keep competitive advantages.
