ZigBee具有進行低功率消耗無線通訊、可以路由訊息，以及允許65535裝置節點工作在同一網路等特點，因此非常適合應用於大樓、工廠與家庭等各類監控應用(其中包含網路式診斷與維護系統)。然而，面對數量龐大的ZigBee裝置，如果沒有妥適的節點管理與機動部署機制，勢必產生節點管理上的混亂，並影響整個網路拓樸的清晰度。此外，當裝設ZigBee節點之監測點越多，所傳輸的訊息數量將越多，融合後之負載資料長度也會變大。因此如何有效地縮小融合後之資料長度、降低訊息碰撞與遺失率，進而縮短存取延遲時間也是一個重要研究議題。本論文提出一個基於ZigBee技術之網路式診斷與維護通用型架構，並針對上述兩個關鍵問題，開發了相對之解決方案與技術。最後利用所提架構建構了一個校園室內照明系統的網路式診斷系統。測試結果顯示，本系統在節點管理上，可以達到機動部署節點的功能；在訊息負載資料融合效能上，可將存取延遲時間大幅降低36%。相信本文所發展的技術與架構，可以作為植基於ZigBee技術之網路式診斷與維護系統相關問題之有效解決方案。

ZigBee possesses various distinctive features, such as performing wireless communication with low power consumption, being able to route messages, and allowing 65535 device nodes working on the same network. Thus, it is very suitable to be applied in various monitoring and control applications of buildings, factories, and homes, including e-Diagnostics and e-Maintenance systems. However, if there are no proper node-management and dynamic-deployment mechanisms for dealing with a large number of ZigBee devices (nodes), it will result in chaos on node management, and affect the clarity of the whole network topology. In addition, when the number of monitoring points equipped with ZigBee nodes increases, the quantity of transmitted messages and the length of the fused payload data also raise accordingly. Hence, how to decrease the length of the fused payload data and reduce the rates of message collisions and losses so as to shorten the data access delay time is also an important research topic. In this thesis, a generic architecture of ZigBee-based e-Diagnostics and e-Maintenance systems is proposed. Besides, the associated solutions and technologies are developed to solve the above two key problems. Finally, an e-Diagnostics system for campus indoor lighting systems is constructed based on the proposed architecture. Testing results illustrate that the e-Diagnostics system can achieve the functionality of dynamically deploying nodes in an easy way for node management. In the performance of payload data fusion, the data access delay time is significantly reduced by 36 percent. It is believed that the developed technologies and architecture can be an effective solution to the associated problems of ZigBee-based e-Diagnostics and e-Maintenance systems.
