本研究主要目的在瞭解母親教養行為、幼兒自我調節和幼兒社會能力之相關研究，並進一步探究母親教養行為、幼兒自我調節對於幼兒社會能力之解釋情形。
本研究以問卷調查法，以大台北地區公私立托兒所大班幼兒為研究對象，使用「母親教養行為量表」、「幼兒自我調節量表」，以及「幼兒社會能力量表」等測量工具，共計發出180份，得有效問卷141份。研究資料經描述性統計、信度分析、單因子變異數分析、皮爾森積差相關，以及線性迴歸等統計方法進行分析，得主要發現如下：
一、母親的教養行為分為「教導與規劃」、「溫暖和鼓勵」、「提供多元
的經驗與刺激」，以及「成熟的要求」等四大向度，且母親在教
養幼兒的行為傾向經常如此。
二、幼兒自我調節整體平均值介於「自我修正」和「反應正確」之間，
可見幼兒行為表現上有一定程度自我調節能力，且此能力偏高。
三、幼兒社會能力共分為五大向度，包含：「合群合作」、「互動行為」、
「禮貌」、「獨立自主」以及「利他行為」，結果顯示幼兒在適應
幼兒園環境以及與同儕互動上的社會能力時常表現出來。
四、幼兒性別對於幼兒社會能力行為表現，達顯著的差異情形，僅在
「互動行為」除外，且女生整體的社會能力表現，顯著高於男生。
五、家庭社經的高低，對幼兒社會能力的影響，並無顯著差異情形。
六、母親於「教導規劃」和「溫暖鼓勵」二個層面的教養行為皆和「禮
貌」呈現顯著的正相關，此外，「溫暖鼓勵」還與「獨立自主」
呈現顯著的正相關。幼兒自我調節能力，與幼兒社會能力呈現顯
著正相關。而「幼兒性別」與其社會能力亦達顯著正相關，僅「互
動行為」除外，且女生高於男生。然「家庭社經」對於幼兒社會
能力，無呈現顯著相關性。
七、當所有變項一起放入迴歸方程式，可知母親溫暖鼓勵的教養行
為、幼兒自我調節和幼兒性別對幼兒社會能力具有顯著預測力，
僅家庭社經地位除外。
本研究最後根據研究結果，提出建議以供幼兒母親、實務工作者、相關親職教育機構參考，並提供未來可進行研究之方向。

The purpose of this study was to understand the relations of maternal behaviors, children’s self-regulation and children’s social competence. Furthermore, it also investigated the effects of maternal behaviors, children’s self-regulation and background variables on children’s social competence.
Questionnaires were used with 5-6 year-old children studying in public and private preschools in the Taipei area. The tools included the Maternal Behaviors Scale, the Children’s Self-regulation Scale, and the Children’s Social Competence Scale. There were 141 valid questionnaires collected. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, reliability analyses, one-way ANOVAs, Pearson correlations and multiple regression. The main results were as follows：
1. There were four dimensions of maternal behaviors: teaching and planning, warmth and responsibility, providing experiences and stimulation and requirement of behaving. Mothers were highly engaged in these behaviors.
2. The average of self-regulation was between “self-correct” and “correct”. It showed that children had high self-regulation.
3. Children’s social competence included five dimensions: cooperation, interaction, politeness, independence and prosocial. The result was that children often showed social competence.
4. There were significant gender differences in children’s social competence. Girls’ social competence was higher than boys’ except in the interaction dimension.
5. There were no significant differences in children’s social competence based upon family SES.
6. Correlations showed that maternal teaching and planning, and warmth and responsibility were positively related to politeness. Maternal warmth and responsibility was also positively related to independence. In addition, children’s self-regulation and gender were positively related to children’s social competence. However, family SES showed no relation to children’s social competence.
7. The regression analyses indicated that maternal warmth and responsibility, children’s self-regulation, and gender did show significant positive associations with children’s social competence. Family SES was not significantly related.
According to the findings above, suggestions were proposed for parents and practitioners. Issues for further study were also provided.
