This study employs the methods of literature review and questionnaire survey. The objectives of this study are to examine the perceived job stress and job satisfaction of student councilors in Senior Vocational High Schools (SVHS), investigate the discrepancies in the perceived job stress and job satisfaction of student councilors with different background variables, explore the relations between the perceived job stress and job satisfaction of student councilors in SVHS, and propose implementation suggestions based on the results of the study to provide references for government education departments, Administrative Officers and student councilors in SVHS. The subjects of the questionnaire survey were 157 incumbent student councilors of all public and private senior vocational high schools in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Mazu of 2007 academic year. A total of 157 questionnaires were distributed and 132 were collected. After screening out the incomplete ones, there were a total of 130 (82.8%) valid questionnaires. The key conclusions of this study are as below: I. the perceived job stress of student councilors in SVHS is medium. II. the perceived job satisfaction of student councilors in SVHS is fairly high. III. the younger and medium-populated school student councilors in SVHS has comparatively higher job stress. IV. the more experienced student councilors in SVHS has comparatively higher job satisfaction. V. the perceived job stress of student councilors in SVHS is negatively correlated with the perceived job satisfaction.
