With easing cross-strait restrictions, opening up of financial policy, the competition in the banking industry is increasingly drastic. How to enhance competitive advantage to the banking industry has become imperative. The only way to ensure sustainable competitive advantages is knowledge. Knowledge-sharing is one of the key factors of success in knowledge creation and business management. Therefore, how to induce voluntary knowledge-sharing amongst employees will be a very important task for a bank. This research is based on sociological viewpoints and from bank staffs’ perspective to discuss and find out how social networks, social capital and knowledge socialization impact knowledge-sharing. It also aims to find the correlation between knowledge sharing and the three factors above to draw banking’s attention on the importance of staff’s knowledge-sharing for reference.
This research takes bank employees as study subjects. Totally 450 questionnaires were issued, and 270 valid questionnaires were returned. Targeting on this sample, data analysis is verified through factor analysis, T test, ANOVA, regression analysis, and LISREL model of statistical methods. As a result, the empirical analysis indicates that:
1.Social network and social capital have significantly positive impacts on knowledge socialization.
2.Social capital and knowledge socialization have significantly positive impacts on knowledge-sharing.
3.Social network and social capital through the intermediary of the knowledge socialization of the effects have significant positive effects on knowledge-sharing.
4.In addition to "job duties," different demographic variables are of significant differences in all dimensions.
