在之前的研究指出,當傳送訊息給多個不同的連線特性的接收端時,不均等錯誤保護技術常被應用於改善無線通訊系統的整體效能。例如,這些特性可能相當於不同的路徑耗損、衰減或干擾等。利用廣播通道,在傳輸給較弱能力的接收端時能花費很低的成本去包含一個額外的訊息給較強能力的接收端。(依據所需接收端的錯誤機率或所需傳送的能量)這項技術稱為同時廣播(Simulcasting)或多重傳送(multicast signaling),在我們的論文研究中將這項技術使用在Ad Hoc網路中,我們討論如何選擇同時廣播技術的參數去影響的網路效能。由模擬結果可知,在無線Ad Hoc網路中適當的選擇同時廣播技術能有效的改善鏈結傳輸量和網路連接。
In previous works, unequal error-protection techniques have been used to improve the throughput of the wireless communication system with different connection characteristics. For instance, these characteristics may correspond to the differences in path loss, fading, or interference.
By taking advantage of the broadcast nature of the channel, it takes very little cost (in terms of the required energy at the transmitters or the error probabilities at the receivers) to include additional messages for the more-capable receivers on the transmissions to the less-capable receivers. The technique for including additional messages was termed simulcasting or multicast signaling. In this thesis, we consider the use of this technique in an ad hoc network. We investigate how to choose the parameters of the simulcasting technique to improve the network performance. Simulation results indicate that a proper choice for the parameters of the simulcasting technique can effectively improve the link throughput and the network connectivity in wireless ad hoc networks.
