ABSTRACT

Pig farm industry in Vietnam has grown continuously recently and is forecasted to consecutively develop for many more years. High investments in this field also require a better management while most of farm managers now in Vietnam are not sufficiently qualified for managing big size farms.
Supply chain management is a good approach that can help companies to improve their capacity and efficiency, but unfortunately, it requires understanding and implementing the combination of complicated knowledge, technologies, strategies and methodologies, which are not easy to apply to real businesses.
This research tries to breakdown elements of supply chain management and some other methods related in order to improve the management of pig farm operations in Vietnam. The methodologies used in this research include delivering of questionnaires, interviewing, analyzing of secondary data, and summarizing theories to answered typical questions in Supply chain management fields within pig farm industry.

Keywords: Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Pig Farm Industry, Vietnam and Pig Farm Operations.
