“Medical doctor” has been categorized as a high income occupation, while the work pressure of a doctor is also rather high. The purpose of this study is to find out the main sources of clinical medical practitioners’ work pressure, the influence to their health and job satisfaction, and the pressure release effects by musical instruments learning as well. The study method adopts the questionnaire via mailing the tested and revised questionnaire to the members of “Taichung Clinics Association” and "Music Association of the Doctor of Taichung City ". The valid return rate of the questionnaire is 71.9%. Sorting out the four source factors of the work pressure according to the exploratory factor analysis from the 44 items are:Job Satisfaction, Type A Personality Traits, Physical-mental Health and Work Pressure Perception. This study shows that musical instrument learning is a remarkable work pressure release method for the clinical medical practitioners in Taichung City. The average value of the work pressure perception differs significantly between medical practitioners who are musical instrument learners and those who are not. Therefore, musical instrument learning is an effective work pressure reliever. This research also shows that for those who with Type A Personality Traits have a prolonged motivation for musical instrument learning.
