When Taiwan came to aging society, demographic changes, the nations’ health attention, and transmission of epidemic have made people increase the demand of medical industry and result in many potential business opportunities in this industry. Now due to the regulation of hospital, competitiveness of hospitals, and uneven distribution of medical personnel, these forced many hospitals to close down or integrate critical resources to become large-scale hospitals. These hospitals often adopted innovative ways to increase competitiveness, including buying advanced equipment, developing new technologies and skills, strategies of diversity and building medical systems. Therefore, this research would combine service system with organizational innovation to explore the type of innovation and innovative factors in medical industry. Then the conclusion of research could give hospitals recommendations to innovate.
This research mainly found service innovative factors and innovation activities that hospitals adopting and analyzed the relationship between innovative factors and innovation activities. The methodology of research is Structural Equation Model and using this method to distinguish the relationship between innovative factors and innovation activities. Besides that, the research wanted to find the importance of these factors out and figured out how innovative factors affect innovation activities.
From the result of analysis, we could know environmental factors would interfere with individual and organizational factors and individual factors also influenced the operation of organization. In addition, organization factors were more important than individual factors in developing innovation activities. Moreover, organization climate, cross-function team and organization structure were essential to organizational innovation and the main types of innovation activities in hospitals were strategy innovation and organization innovation. Then service innovation system map could understand causual relationship among innovative factors and innovation activities. The conclusion of research would provide the blueprint of developing innovation activities and know how to link innovative factors and innovation activities together.
