工業設計人員需具備的專業能力非常廣泛,橫跨認知、情意、技能三大領域。本研究藉由文獻探討,整理、歸納出工業設計人員的能力指標,再搜尋、瀏覽各領域中可能的能力測驗,嘗試將工業設計人員能力指標與測驗進行配對。依其貢獻度與可行性,並參考新進工業設計人員的專業能力需求,本研究選擇「情意」領域中的「職業道德」,與「技能」領域中的「圖面溝通」,進行研究設計。分別發展出「設計人員職業道德行為量表」,與「工業設計人員識、製圖能力測驗」。
「設計人員職業道德行為量表」研究結果顯示︰(1)「學歷」與「專業背景」差異,可能影響設計人員對於職業道德的認同度。學歷是「研究所」的受測者,比「大學、專科」者,特別注重「公眾」的職責。專業背景是「工業設計」的受測者,比「視覺傳達設計」、「其他設計」者,更加重視「公眾」、「自然環境」的職責。(2)設計人員職業道德行為量表間「委託人與雇主;設計人員;酬勞;職業;名聲、宣傳;公眾;社會與文化;自然環境」8個構面的相關係數顯著。(3)以「委託人與雇主;設計人員;酬勞;名聲、宣傳;公眾;社會與文化;自然環境」7構面為預測變項;可預測「職業」構面的68.1%。(4)受測者依集群分析,可分為4群︰「衛道人士」、「中庸之道」、「獨善其身」、「同儕至上」。
「工業設計人員識、製圖能力測驗」研究結果顯示,「專業經驗」差異,可能影響工業設計人員的識、製圖能力。以「檯式虎鉗的立體系統分解圖」為例題︰(1)「年級」方面,「四年級」受測者的「立體分解圖描繪」、「標示可動關節」得分,比「一年級」優秀。(2)「設計證照」方面,「有工業設計相關證照」受測者的「立體分解圖描繪」得分,比「無設計相關證照」者優秀。(3)另外發現,「性別」方面,「男性」受測者的「零、組件判別」得分,比「女性」優秀。
工業設計逐漸受到社會重視,影響力越強、責任就越大。期望藉由新進工業設計人員能力指標與測驗的探討,呼籲大眾關心工業設計人員的專業能力發展,健全工業設計人員的專業能力養成與考核制度建立。
Industrial designers need to have a very wide range of professional competence, across the three major areas of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Through reference review, this study discusses, collates and summarizes the industrial designers’ competence indicators. Then it goes on to research and browse the possible competence test in various fields, and try to pair up between the industrial designers’ competence indicators and the test. According to the extent of its feasibility and contribution, and the needs of novice industrial designers’ professional competence, this study chooses the "professional ethics" from the " affective " field, and the " communication of drawing " from the " psychomotor " field, to carry out research and design. It aims to develop "Designers’ professional ethic behaviors scale" and "Industrial designers’ competence test of recognition of drafts and drawing", respectively.
The research results of "Designers’ professional ethic behaviors scale" showed that : (1) The differences of "education degree" and "professional background" may affect designers’ professional ethic recognition . Testers with "graduate" degree tend to emphasis more on "public" responsibility than that with "university" degree. Testers with professional background of "industrial design" tend to emphasis more on "public", "natural environment" responsibility than testers with "visual communication design", and "other design". (2) 8 items (client & employer; designers; remuneration; profession; publicity; public; society & culture; natural environment) in "Designers’ professional ethic behaviors scale" showed significant correlation coefficient. (3) Using the following 7 items as predicting variables: " client & employer; designers; remuneration; publicity; public; society & culture; natural environment ", 68.1% of the "profession" item can be predicated. (4) According to ‘cluster analysis’, testers can be divided into 4 groups: "Moralist", "Moderationist", “The self serving", "The peer-first".
The result of "Industrial designers’ competence test of recognition of drafts and drawing " shows that the differences of "professional experience" may affect the industrial designers’ competence of recognition of drafts and drawing. The Using "exploded illustration of bench vise" as an example : (1) "Grade-wise ", the "fourth grade" outperformed "first grade" in " exploded illustration drawing" and "movable joints marking". (2) In "design certification", testers with "industrial design licenses" outperformed "license-free designers" in " exploded illustration drawing". (3) Another finding is that, "gender-wise", the "male" outperformed "female" in "components identification”.
As the social recognition of industrial design increases, its influence and responsibility also increases greatly. It is expected that through the research of novice industrial designers’ competence indicators and test, the public interest can be called upon in fields such as industrial designers’ professional competence development, and helps to complete the examination system of industrial designers’ professional competence cultivation and the establishment of its corresponding checking system.
