Because motor vehicle parts in Taiwan have sailed very successfully in the past, this research chooses the industry as the research subject. This research acquires relatively more important criteria in motor vehicle parts manufacturing industry through visiting suppliers and reviewing literature, including seven major criteria and thirty sub-criteria. The questionnaire was provided for each of seven suppliers that produce motor vehicle parts. Finally, this study combines AHP with DEMATEL to analyze the priority and causal relationships of the supplier selection criteria. The results generated by AHP show that three major criteria including quality, service, and technological capability should be placed in highest priorities, while the results provided by DEMATEL show that flexibility and responsiveness of service and geographical location of organization are the two most worthy sub-criteria to be emphasized and improved for suppliers by observing the causal relationships.
