The purpose of this study is to aid business enterprises in upgrading performance by improvement in workers output. Workers are not mere isolated tools, they work in units involving complex group dynamics. This study explores the impacts of team heterogeneity and goal congruence on team performance. A key word in this research is “trust” and its effect on the relationship between heterogeneity, goal congruence and team performance. To carry out this research questionnaires were distributed to R & D team leaders to fill out. 196 completed forms were collected. The findings can be summed up as follows:

1. Team heterogeneity has a positive relationship with team
performance.
2. The target consistency has a positive relationship with team
performance.
3. Trust has a positive relationship with team performance.
4. The relation between team heterogeneity and team performance is
in no way moderated by “trust”.
5. In the relation between goal consistence and team
performance, “trust” does come into play. Here it is also show to
have a positive influence.
