熱水足浴是民間經常使用在養生與保健的活動,但缺乏客觀的評估報告。本研究目的是藉由熱
水足浴對中年人心率變異與體溫變化之影響,以觀察熱水足浴對交感神經與副交感神經的影響和了
解熱水足浴前後體溫的變化。
本研究採用交叉性試驗及方便取樣方式,以17 名中年女性自願者作為研究對象。每位研究參
與者進行兩天兩階段的心率變異與體溫測量(耳溫、指溫、紅外線熱影像之指溫與足溫),第一天不
對參與者進行任何介入措施,而在第二天則進行42°C,20 分鐘的熱水足浴介入措施,採重複測量
的方式收集每5 分鐘心率變異及體溫,研究過程共40 分鐘,資料收集後採SPSS 12.0 for Windows 統
計軟體進行資料處理及統計分析。
研究結果發現熱水足浴可改變心率變異與體溫,研究結果發現在心率變異方面:熱水足浴15
分鐘可降低心率變異中交感神經之低頻活性(P<.05),並可顯著降低交感神經與副交感神經比值
(P<.01),與逐漸提高副交感神經之高頻活性;在體溫方面,熱水足浴在研究過程中有效提升體溫
並達統計顯著差異(P<.01),耳溫最高可提升0.4°C、導線指溫最高可提升3.4°C、紅外線熱影像指
溫提升2°C、足溫提升4.4°C,同時參與者主觀感受亦表達熱水足浴有舒服、放鬆與溫暖的感覺。
研究結果顯示熱水足浴可改變心率變異交感與副交感神經之調控與提升體溫,熱水足浴是一項方便
不具侵入性與副作用達到放鬆與改變身體溫度的方法,建議做為日常生活保健的活動。
Warm footbath is frequently considered by society as a health maintaining and promoting activity.
However, warm footbath lacks objective assessment. The aim of this study is to explore the effects of
warm footbath on heart rate variability and body temperature in the middle women . This will allow the
observation and understanding warm footbaths have on the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous
systems and its association with body temperature changes.
A cross-over comparison research design and convenience sampling methods were used. Seventeen
middle aged female volunteers were the research subjects. Every subject underwent two-days-two-stages
measurement of heart rate variability and body temperatures (ear temperature, finger temperature, and
infrared thermal imager’s finger and foot temperature). There was no intervention on the first day of
experiment. On the seconda day, 20 minutes of 42°C footbath, heart rate variability and body temperature
measurements were recorded every 5 minutes for a total of 40 minutes. After collection of data, SPSS
12.0 Windows statistical software was used for data processing and statistical snalysis.
The results of this study showed that warm footbath can change heart rate variability and body
temperature. Fifteen minutes of warm footbath can reduce the frequency of sympathetic system activation
(P<0.05)and is a significant reudction of the ratio of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system
activation (P < 0.01), with gradual increase of frequency of parasympathetic nervous system activation. In
terms of body temperature, warm footbath can increase body temperature to a statistically significant
degree (P<0.01). Ear temperature can increse by 0.4°C. Finger temperature can increase by 3.4°C.
Infrared thermal finger temperature can increase by 2°C. Feet temperature can increase by 4.4°C.
Moreover, subjects experience relaxing, comfortable, and warm sensations. The results of this study show
that warm footbath can change heart rate variability, parasympathetic activity tended to increase
and sympathetic activity decrease after footbaths, and elevate body temperature. Warm footbath is a
non-invasive method to attain relaxation and body temeprature changes, and it is recommended as a daily
health maintenance exercise.
