This research is aims at the path plan of BALL MILL cutting curved surface proceeding research, proposed a set of cutter path plan law that conform to the surface roughness and dimensional precision of cutting curved surface, simultaneously also be the machining period shortest. The plan analysis program, this article establishment model by the Pro/E software first, according to the machining parameters model hypothesis, proceeding curvature analysis of machining curved surface to obtain the biggest radius R of BALL MILL. Secondly, proceeding cutter path analysis by the PRO/NC system as well as the VERICUT software with two simulation methods, one is the Scallop-Height control method, this radial feed rate of cutter path will changes with the curvature variation, enlarge the interval of cutter path when the curvature variation small, and reduce the interval of cutter path when it is big; another is radial depth of cut control method, using the curvature analysis obtain the radial feed rate of cutter path which tallies with Scallop-Height, then the interval of cutter path is a fixed; finally, two methods both cutting by differently angle to discuss the difference of cutting time. According to the analysis result of this article gained the better suggest of cutting path to reduce the machining period.
