Abstract This paper makes literature review and interpretative analysis based on my own works Chinese Idiom Series. As a popular cultural phenomenon, kuso prevails on the Internet, in imitation shows, funny movies, and even the art world. The reckless but creative, satirical but black-humor works bring viewers alternative sensuality. The paper discusses whether “words” in works play as a side dish or a main dish; how artists make their works more attractive with word games; and what’s the role of words in a picture. The artists express the fun of words by displaced words, advertising words, or even Taiwanese words. In the paper three points are analyzed: the motive of creating Chinese Idiom Series, its four qualities (random imagination and association; humor and kuso; linear and flat color hump; interaction - look and say) and the connection of the four small series with the society. With current social issues such as low birth rate, depression and environmental protection, the paper brings out contemplation on society by light paint vocabularies. I also share some life experience with idioms. Moreover, the paper makes a kuso idiom dictionary with digital images to show the fun of transforming, deconstructing, and recombining the Oriental words. The West and the East are fused in the comic pictures and interesting titles, the Western pictures and the Oriental words. With black humor through the paper, I integrate the whole paper with painting experience to inspire the power and orientation of future creation.
