摩里斯．拉威爾（Maurice Ravel, 1875-1937），為法國十九世紀末至二十世紀初「印象樂派」（The Impressionism）著名作曲家之一。在他的創作生涯中，共創作了十七部的鋼琴作品，其中《庫普蘭之墓》（Le Tombeau de Couperin, 1914-1917）除了是拉威爾在第一次世界大戰期間所創作的唯一一首鋼琴獨奏曲，同時也是他個人鋼琴創作生涯的最後一部作品。此作品由六首小品所組成，作品中的每一首樂曲並分別題獻給他在第一次世界大戰（1914-1918）中身亡的朋友們。
《庫普蘭之墓》的創作靈感來自於巴洛克時期的法國鍵盤音樂家法蘭梭瓦．庫普蘭（François Couperin, 1668-1733），主要以巴洛克時期的舞曲形式作為創作的基礎，同時此作品也是拉威爾運用所喜愛的舞曲作為創作的代表之一。《庫普蘭之墓》對於樂曲的精巧安排以及音響中豐富和聲語彙的展現，皆顯露出拉威爾個人所獨具的原創性，筆者也希望藉由此研究能使自己在演奏與詮釋上有更為貼切的掌握。

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), one of the most famous composers of the early 20th century French impressionism, has written seventeen piano compositions throughout his life. Le Tombeau de Couperin was written between 1914 and 1937, it was the only piano piece which Ravel composed during the World War I (1914-1918) and was also his last piano composition in his career. Each of the six pieces in Le Tombeau de Couperin was respectively dedicated to his friends who died in the war.
Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin which was inspired by the Baroque French keyboardist François Couperin (1668-1733), was not only written mostly in the Baroque dance forms, but also one of the best examples of Ravel’s favorite use of his dance works. Le Tombeau de Couperin with the ingenious setting and the presence of the harmonic sonority showed the creativity of Ravel’s personal expression. Through out the process of this research, the author wishes to find out the composer perception of the work, and to hope the author and reader to be closer to the performance and interpretation aspects of the work.
