目的:了解房務人員在床鋪整理與浴室清潔兩項工作時所測得人因工學參數與自述肌肉骨骼傷害問卷盛行率間之相關性;同時,也了解房務人員在床鋪整理與浴室清潔兩項工作時所測得人因工學參數與BRIEF(Baseline Risk Identification of Ergonomic Factors)檢核表所評估姿勢及出力不合格率間之相關性。
方法:本研究在2008年7月至9月間針對台灣16間飯店旅館業共41位房務人員使用雙軸電子量角器(Biaxial electrogoniometers)與表面肌電位感測元件(Surface electromyography sensor)來實際測量房務人員之工作時慣用手之人因數據,同時也利用BRIEF檢核表評估其工作過程中姿勢及出力不合格率,並以MSD問卷調查房務人員自述肌肉骨骼傷害之情況。本研究使用Spearman’s Rho correlation coefficient檢定人因工學參數與BRIEF之間的相關性;另使用Mann-Whitney U test 檢定自述有肌肉骨骼傷害研究對象者其人因工學參數平均值是否與無此傷害者間有顯著差異性。
結果:結果發現大部分人因工學數據與檢核表數據之間具有正相關且主要集中在「手與手腕」(床鋪整理:尺偏/橈偏角度分度第50百分位數與手與手腕捏握≧0.9kg之相關係數為0.394;浴室清潔中,屈曲/伸展(Hz)與尺偏/橈偏(Hz)與手與手腕力握≧4.5kg之相關係數分別為0.359與0.343);而人因工學數據與自述是否有肌肉骨骼傷害之間亦多數呈現正相關,其中屈曲/伸展與尺偏/橈偏兩項與各部位肌肉骨骼傷害間多數具有正相關性,但在脖子部位,多數人因工學數據與肌肉骨骼傷害則是呈現負相關性。
結論:本研究發現飯店房務人員在進行床鋪整理與浴室清潔兩項工作時其所測得之多項人因工學參數與BRIEF檢核表結果及與自述肌肉骨骼傷害之間呈現正相關性(特別是手與手腕部位),但多數並未達到統計上之顯著意義。人因工學儀器採直接測量受測者工作時之數據,因此具有較高的客觀性,可能需要更多的研究來進一步探討此客觀數據與其他種類檢核表或評估問卷結果間之相關性;另外本研究只著重在上肢部位,未來研究可考慮進行其他身體部位之人因工學的評估。

Purposes: To realize the correlation between the selected ergonomic parameters and the self-reported prevalence rate of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) among room attendants while cleaning the bedroom and bathroom. And to assess the associations of ergonomic parameters with rate of awkward posture and force determined by the Baseline Risk Identification of Ergonomic Factors (BRIEF).
Methods: Between July and September, 2008, a total of 41 room attendants from 16 hotels around Taiwan participated in this study. These study participants voluntarily wore biaxial electrogoniometers and surface electromyography sensors for the direct measurement of ergonomic data associated with their hand habitually used while performing cleaning work. We also used BRIEF checklist to assess the rate of awkward posture and force among study participants, and used the MSD questionnaire to collect the prevalence rate of participant’s self-reported MSD. We calculated Spearman’s Rho correlation coefficient to indicate the relationship between ergonomic parameters and the results of BRIEF. We used Mann-Whitney U test to examine the difference in mean ergonomic parameters between the study participants who self-reported having certain musculoskeletal complaints and those who didn’t have such complaints.
Result: Most of the ergonomic parameters were found to be positively correlated with the data obtained from the BRIEF checklist, with the most prominent findings being noted for hand and wrists. The correlation coefficient between the 50th percentile angle of ulnar deviation/ radial deviation and the wrists knead / pinch ≧0.9 kg while performing bedroom cleaning was estimated at 0.394. For the bathroom cleaning work, the flexion / extension (Hz) and ulnar deviation/ radial deviation (Hz) were positively associated with hands and wrists knead / pinch ≧4.5 kg, with a correlation coefficient of 0.359 and 0.343, respectively. Additionally, most of the ergonomic parameters were also positively associated with musculoskeletal complaints, in which flexion/ extension and the ulnar deviation/ radial deviation were positively associated with many body part-specific complaints. However, most of the ergonomic parameters were negatively associated with musculoskeletal complaints for the neck.
Conclusion: The study showed that most of the ergonomic parameters were positively correlated with the results from application of BRIEF and also with self-reported musculoskeletal complaints (especially for hands and wrists) among room attendants while performing cleaning work at bathrooms and bedrooms. But most of the associations were not significant statistically. Data obtained from ergonomic instrument are direct measurements of workers and are considered relatively objective. To further assess the appropriateness of using such data in the assessment of ergonomic hazards, we need more studies to valid against the results from ergonomic checklist and self-reported questionnaire. Additionally, our study was limited to the assessment and analysis of upper limbs, and provided no information relevant to the lower limbs, which can be objects of future studies.
