本研究旨在探討高雄縣參加提早入學鑑定學生家長對資優教育的認知情形，以及參加提早入學鑑定幼兒個人背景變項與其家長個人背景變項在資優教育認知程度差異情形。
本研究係以高雄縣參加提早入學鑑定學生之家長為研究對象。採用自編問卷「高雄縣參加提早入學鑑定學生家長對資優教育的認知調查問卷」為工具進行研究，問卷施測採以現場專人發給家長填寫。問卷調查所得資料係以描述統計、t考驗及單因子變異數分析等統計法來分析結果，並歸納研究結果如下：
一、整體高雄縣參加提早入學鑑定學生家長對資優教育的認知屬中等程度；其中以「對資優教育鑑定與安置認知方面」較高，其次依序為「對資優教育資源認知方面」、「對資優教育法令認知方面」，最低為「對資優特質的認識方面」。
二、不同背景變項的參加提早入學鑑定學生家長對資優教育的認知僅有在父親年齡及母親學歷在「對資優教育資源認知方面」上有顯著差異；父親與幼兒互動相處時間在「對資優特質的認識方面」上有顯著差異。
三、不同背景變項的參加提早入學鑑定學生家長對幼兒學習能力與目前學習狀況的認知並無顯著差異。
四、高雄縣參加提早入學鑑定學生家長對提早入學抱持贊成的態度，也認為對孩子身心發展具有正向影響，並主動積極瞭解與考量孩子的適應問題。
最後，本研究根據上述言結果提出三點建議，一落實資優教育的宣導與輔導制度、二發展幼兒評量工具、三建立完善資優教育的評估制度。俾供主管教育機關與相關單位改進資優教育工作之參考。
