Vibratory stimulation could elicit reflexive muscle contraction that augment neuromuscular function and contribute to increase strength. Thus, the frequency and amplitude of vibration training were main factors to training effects, its chronic effects on muscular performance need to further determine. The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of vibration training programs such as high frequency low amplitude (HFV), medium frequency and amplitude (MFV), low frequency high amplitude (LFV) and dynamic squatting without vibration (CON) on muscle contraction performance. 65 health college students were participated training programs for 8 weeks. Before and after the vibration training, maximum torque, acceleration time, and muscle activity of quadriceps and hamstring muscles at 0, 60 and 120°/s contraction velocity were measured by Biodex dynamometer. The results showed that HFV training significantly improved isometric torque, concentric isokinetic torque, and decreased in acceleration time at 120°/s on quadriceps. The MFV training significantly increased concentric and eccentric isokinetic torque at 60 and 120°/s on quadriceps. The LFV training significantly increased eccentric isokinetic torque at 60 and 120°/s on quadriceps. In conclusion, the findings of present study suggested that frequency and amplitude of vibration training for 8 weeks induced different effects on muscle contraction performance.
