本論文主要探討巴赫的《b小調法國風序曲，作品831》。第一章緒論，主要說明作品831的名稱及版本問題。第二章文獻探討，包含法國序曲，巴洛克時期的組曲，組曲中各舞曲的特色、定義與發展歷史，巴赫裝飾音的演奏法，巴洛克時期的鍵盤樂器與力度記號，以及《c小調法國風序曲，作品831a》及《b小調法國風序曲，作品831》的版本比較。第三章樂曲分析與詮釋，分析序曲及各舞曲的段落結構、使用素材及演奏詮釋。第四章結論，藉由本文的探討重新檢視這首長久以來被忽略的曲子，確認它確實有其獨特性，使更多人對巴赫的這組樂曲有更深入的認識。

This study mainly intends to explore J.S. Bach’s “Overture in the French Manner, BWV 831” in B minor. In the first chapter “Introduction”, the titles and the versions of the work “BWV 831” are explained. The second chapter “Literature Review” include French Overture and the Suites in Baroque Period, as well as the features, definitions and the history of development of different dances in the suites, together with the Ornamentation of Bach’s works, the keyboard instruments and dynamics in Baroque Period, and the comparisons between the versions of the 831a in C Minor and the one in B Minor. The third chapter is “Analysis and Interpretation”, in which the structure, musical material, and performance interpretation of the overture and dances are analyzed. In the fourth chapter “Conclusion”, through the exploration in this study, the overture that has been ignored for a long time is examined newly, and its uniqueness is confirmed. Hence, many more people will have further understanding about the overture created by J.S. Bach.
