本論文設計及建置一個讓幼童練習英文的遊戲,透過不同的輸入介面如手寫版、麥克風及滑鼠等,讓幼童學習說、寫與辨識字母及英文單字。在學習的過程中,加入了一個虛擬機器人作為幼童的學習夥伴,提升幼童的專注力並融入遊戲的世界。藉由網路的連接,學習者可以不受時間、空間的限制,透過遊戲來進行學習。也可以多人同時連線,在遊戲競賽中學習,進而提升學習成效。
本研究挑選了6名5~7歲初接觸英語的學童做為本實驗的研究對象,將學習者所使用的教材分為兩組,分別為實驗組及對照組。利用實驗組以及對照組的前測與後測的成績及問卷調查做為統計的依據。統計的結果說明了本研究可提昇學習者的學習興趣及學習成效。

This thesis proposes a game-based educational computer aid tool for children to assist their English learning by interacting with different input interfaces such as writing pad, mouse and microphone to achieve the goal of writing, recognizing and pronouncing letters. To improve children’s concentration we have designed and implemented a virtual software robot as a partner in this tool during children’s learning. With the aim to boost the effect of learning, it allows several children to connect this game at the same time to internet that provides an unrestricted space environment for users.
We chose six children aged 5 to 7 who are English beginners as our observation. We divided our teaching materials into two groups. One is called experimental group and the other is called compared group. These children are given examinations and questionnaires before and after using both materials. The scores of these examinations and questionnaires are our observation datum and they have been analyzed to be our results in detail. The experimental results demonstrate this educational computer aid tool has increased the learning interest and effectiveness.
