The present study focuses on the relationship between administrators’ orientations to knowledge management and school innovative management. It examines which subscales of administrators’ knowledge management can best predict school innovative management. Employing the questionnaire survey method, the study took public junior high school administrators in Tao-yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-Li County as the research subjects. The adapted questionnaire of “Junior High School Administrators’ Knowledge Management and School Innovative Management ” was used as a tool to conduct the research. The total number of questionnaires issued was 709, and the returned number of questionnaires was 634. The returning rate was 89%. By carefully inspection, 584 effective questionnaires were obtained, and the effective rate was 92%. Data obtained from the survey were coded in the computer, processed and analyzed via SPSS 17.0 for Windows statistical software in t-test, one-way ANOVA, canonical correlation and multiple stepwise regression. According to the result of literary analysis, the study reached the following conclusions: 1.Junior high school administrators in Tao-yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-Li County have positive perceptions for knowledge management, and ‘’knowledge acquisition’’ is at the best level, ‘’knowledge sharing’’ is at the worst level. 2.The junior high school administrators with 31-40 years, masters (with 40 credit courses) or more, more than 21 seniorities, department directors, administrators who have attended training courses or study of knowledge management ,and school class size of 25-59 were more perceptive to applying knowledge management. 3.Junior high school administrators in Tao-yuan County, Hsin-chu County, Hsin-chu City and Miao-Li County have positive perceptions for school innovative management, and ‘’student activity innovation’’ is at the best level, ‘’resources utility innovation’’ is at the worst level. 4.Department directors, administrators who have attended training courses or study of school innovative management, junior high schools in Tao-yuan County and Hsin-chu City, and junior high schools in 10 years of history were more perceptive to applying school innovative management. 5.There were correlations between junior high school administrators’ knowledge management and school innovative management. And there were two canonical correlations between them. 6.Among the five subscales of administrators’ knowledge management, “knowledge innovation” is a significant predictor of school innovative management. Practical implications of the study are discussed in relation to educational administration’s authorities, junior high schools and administrators.
