不論是居家或是公司大樓的門禁、出入境的管理、電腦登錄、銀行取款,甚至犯罪的偵查防範,都需要進行身分認證,來保障個人權益和資訊安全。生物特徵辨識採集人體身上獨一無二的身體特徵來進行身分認證。指紋、人臉與虹膜辨識系統是目前發展較久且較成熟的生物特徵辨識系統,若能再使用其他的生物特徵辨識來進一步強化身分認證之安全度,是一值得探討之研究主題。人耳特徵是易見、易取得、穩定度高且不易受時間性的影響改變之生物特徵。本論文將探討如何利用人耳來進行生物特徵的驗證與辨認;研究主題包含膚色切割、人耳定位、人耳影像正規化、基於正規化互相關係數於人耳驗證,與基於豪斯多夫距離於人耳辨認。經過自行拍攝建構之人耳影像資料庫測試後,結果顯示所提出之人耳驗證辨認系統擁有極高的發展潛力。
No matter security of household, company buildings, exit and entry management, computer login, banking withdrawals, as well as investigation and prevention of crime commission require personal identifications in order to protect individual rights and information security. Biometric feature is an unique individual feature of human body to identify persons. Fingerprint, face and iris are well studied biometric features. However, it is worth utilizing other biometric features to enhance the security of personal verification and identification. The characteristics of ear are visible, easy to get, stable and difficult to be affected by aging. This thesis will explore how to utilize human ear to develop biometric verification and recognition methods. The topics include skin segmentation, human ear localization, human ear normalization, human ear verification based on normalized cross-correlation coefficient and human ear identification based on Hausdorff distance. Using the self-built human ears’ database, the experimental results show that human ear verification and identification methods have extremely high potential to develop in the future.
