This research aimed to construct the Model of Events-based Structured Group Supervision via a task analysis of three stages of group supervision for counseling psychologists in practicum. There were 5 subjects in a supervision group, and total 10 subjects of two groups in this study.
This study relied on literatures review, pilot study, and practical experiences of the researcher to first design a rational model. It verified the beginning behavior (marker) by the request-for-assistance statements of the presenter in group supervision, it also verified the final behavior (solution) by the self-rating of problem solving of the presenter and then describing their satisfaction and concrete reasons on the three variables. In addition, according to the actual study analysis of three stages of group supervision, the researcher could modify and amend an original rational model to construct for practice.
The results of this study provide the Model with 13 components, and it can effectively verify the beginning and final behavior of the presenter in group supervision. Furthermore, the 13 components also present changing process of interaction in group supervision, which to form the interaction phenomenon of “4 Groups with 3 Circles” and “4 Aspects, 4 Patterns, and 4 Circles of Feedback”.
Based on conclusions of the study, the researcher provides constructive suggestions for supervisors, clinical supervision, and future research respectively.
