Numerous studies based on the social exchange or social capital theory to investigate the knowledge sharing behaviors of virtual communities. Specifically, these studies focused on the discussion of interactive context. However, online game forums can apply a lot of measures, such as reward mechanisms, to further encourage the member to share knowledge. Besides, the member’s competence of online games is also an important determinant of knowledge sharing. Therefore, this study is based on social cognitive theory combining with social exchange and social capital theory, and proposed an integrated model which includes an implicit environment, explicit environments, and personal factors to interpret the knowledge sharing behavior in an online game forum. The subjects were recruited from the member of Bahamut and Gamebase, two of the largest online game forums in Taiwan, and the partial least squares method was used to test model. Results showed all of the factors had significant effects on the attitude towards knowledge sharing. In addition, the stronger influence factor was the implicit environment, followed by personal factors, and explicit environment.
