擴增實境是一種更貼近我們生活的科技技術,讓我們能夠以更真實的方式來接觸各種虛擬感官訊息,所以,目前已經有越來越多的擴真實境應用出現。我國『財團法人資訊工業策進會』為了讓擴增實境技術能夠被廣泛運用到各類不同產業中,也逐漸舉辦相關活動來為民眾展示擴增實境的魅力,例如傢俱目錄變成3D立體傢俱、2D明信片變成3D實景等。觀看現行普遍的虛擬校園導覽系統,大部分是透過用平面圖或文字來向使用者指示相關校園位置資訊,並採用印刷品或網站形式來呈現這些平面圖及文字為主途徑。為了讓使用者對校園環境有更具體的了解,部分校園則採用虛擬實境技術來提供更具象的3D校園樣貌。本研究之目的是希望把擴增實境技術應用至虛擬校園導覽系統,除了同樣可以提供3D校園導覽之外,更期許可以提供另一種更直覺的方式來讓使用者操作虛擬內容,提供另一種即時的互動方式來導覽校園建築或環境,並增加導覽過程的趣味性,讓使用者透過擴增實境技術能夠以簡單且更真實具象的導覽過程來對校園環境得到更多的瞭解。為瞭解研究相關成效,本研究會針對使用本擴增實境虛擬校園導覽系統之使用意見進行相關調查與討論,發現普遍大部分使用者對本系統皆有正向的使用感受回饋,表示將擴增實境技術應用於虛擬校園導覽系統之可行性是很高的。
Augmented Reality is a kind of technology which provides a kind of displaying and operating way that is much more familiar to that of our daily life. It allows us to interact with every virtual message through a more real way. Thus, more and more applications on Augmented Reality occur recently. In order to promote the technology of Augmented Reality around different industries for more applications, the organization “Institute for Information Industry” of our country gradually holds related activities for public, to show off the magic of Augmented Reality. For example, such as, a furniture catalog becomes a 3D-furniture, a 2D post card becomes a 3D real-like building. Reviewing the recent ordinary virtual campus guidance systems, most of them just make use of the floor plane or words to provide indication of campus related location information for users. And the forms of printed matter or web sites are the most popular way being used to display these floor plane and words. In order to let users being able to have a more concrete understanding about the environment of the campus, some campus choose to use the technology of Virtual Reality in providing the concrete 3D appearance of the campus. The purpose of this research is to evaluate Augmented Reality application on virtual campus guidance system. Besides providing a 3D-campus guidance, this research expects the application will provide a more instinctive way in operating the virtual contents, in order to give another kind of instance interactive way while visiting the building or environment of the campus virtually. Moreover, this more simple and figurative guidance process may add fun. And all these make users being able to get more understandings about the campus environment. For realizing the effectiveness of this research, the survey on satisfaction of using this system proceeded and discussed. And most of the users have positive feedback on this. It means that the feasibility of Augmented Reality application on virtual campus guidance system is so remarkable.
