This study focus on the space design that is guided by the in- between concept, which shall present different angles of the architectural design.
During the process of modernization, the space structure is affected by the changes of social structure and cultural value. The increasing urban population density leads us to a simplified & quantified design model, which limits the living quality. When talking about a quality life, we shall be looking for an opener and freer living space design.
The design of a house reflects the relation between living style and the space planning. Hence, we will focus on the housing space for further discussion.
Applying the in-between concept onto house releases a better space. Consider it a group concept; we should apply it for increasing living quality.
The studying subjects are the housing model that is popular in southern Taiwan. In four points of view:
1. Defining the meaning of in-between concept and the developing process of house by reviewing documentations.
2. Analyze the in-between space model of housing from case study.
3. The process of applying in-between concept onto housing design.
4. The space present and future development of design graphic.
