在過去研究資料,檢視世界各地氣喘盛行率,發現氣喘盛行率有逐年增加的趨勢,同樣在台灣也有相同現象。不同的居家環境、生活型態等皆有可能對健康造成影響。氣喘疾病的致病因子可分為內在因素跟外在因素,內在因素包括年齡、種族、家族遺傳等。外在因素則包含飲食習慣與生活環境等,使具有較敏感體質的人產生生理上的不適。居家環境髒亂與日常生活用品中所含有的化學物質成分皆會影響生理,對體質較敏感的人會造成氣喘疾病的發生。
本研究主要目的包含(1)了解苗栗地區居家生活環境概況;(2)評估苗栗地區國小學童氣喘盛行率、過敏等;(3)評估影響氣喘的暴露相關因子。
選取六個不同特性的區域之七所國小三年級學童為研究樣本,以家長填寫問卷方式進行調查。問卷內容包含性別、居家概況、經濟狀況、家族病史等資料。問卷回收832份,回收率為71.3%。氣喘、過敏、呼吸系統疾病盛行率分別為5.9%;31.3%:10.2%。
研究結果苗栗地區屋齡多為二十年以上,居家環境潮濕、髒亂易引起病蟲害的滋生,對健康造成危害。先前的研究中也指出居家環境潮濕、髒亂與氣喘有相關性。
