Tenements are associated with the most important needs and activities of people-residing. Although we often simplify it for just a space to live in, it contains every aspect of building design: from environment to space and from material to form. Analyzed by the USA humanistic psychologist Maslow’s need-hierarchy theory, building also associate with physiology, safety, social contact, self-esteem and self-achievement needs. Everyone has different needs to his/her tenement level, so his/her has different understanding for building design, too . Design, for nowadays, builds up the most suitable space for people to live.It emphasizes the principle of use. It does not make too much decorating, but from the simplest points, lines and planes to develop the properity and value of conection in spaces, and trying hard to show the tension. We have already contected with many elements on work, so when going back to the corner that cloest to us, we don’t want to have any complicated design, concept or decoration. The more simple of color in a space, the more ability to responds to the eager of relaxing and the miss of home inside our heart. The art of geometry always makes us explore and study its internal thought. The chemical effects between lines and planes often show visual conflicts, and they can bring us the impression that is simple but profound. When this concept is used in the field of building, the structure of exterior appearance that we are familier with turns into geometric pictures, and the decoration and design of interior spaces become an interesting topic deserve explored. This case builds up the special characteristic that only belongs to this tenement by using material, furniture and soft fittings to design the interior spaces. Using penetrate, level, extending, persistency, contrast, proportion and the conection and reaction with outside, through the organization of design, the value of space itself can be enlarged and are more diversified, more positive and more substantive.
