多點觸控可以讓使用者觸碰面板上的元件的方式來操作系統。透過這種操作方式,使用者能夠以human-computer interaction的方式去控制元件,達到user-friendly的操作效果。相較於使用者透過滑鼠操作的這一層動作,直接用手指操作觸控螢幕可以讓使用者更清楚地了解目前的動作意涵。電子書可以有更多元化方式去呈現書本內容。相較於一般的紙本書,電子書的多媒體可以有圖片,影像,聲音和文字,並且比紙本書更輕盈,電子書使用起來更便利,我們可以透過網路來取得新知識。因此我們將這兩大特色結合在一起,並套入有意義的學習策略,來達到數位學習的目的。
在本篇論文當中,我們提出了一套系統稱為activity eBook,我們使用多點觸控技術結合電子書閱讀和教學策略產生新型態的互動式電子書,來達到教學及學習的目的。這套系統分為兩部分,電子書編輯和閱讀介面設計。在電子書編輯部份提供教材設計者可以快速及便利的編輯制作互動式多媒體電子書,不需要學習過多的IT技術以減少一般教師對於製作電子書的鴻溝。學習者透過我們設計的階梯式架構來管理電子書櫃,並可以透過觸控的方式閱讀電子書。我們將透過交叉式書籤和精選書的方式來讓使用者歸納重點,使學習者達到有意義的學習。

Multi-touch technology works by using the touch components to operate activity of screen for users need. This operation allows users controlling components in a human-computer interaction way which can achieve the effect of user-friendly operation. Compare with the mouse control, the finger control on the screen allows users to clearly understand the current action situation. The eBook has a more diversified approach to render the book content. Compare with printed books, eBooks have more multimedia, such as images, videos, audios, and texts. The eBook is more lightweight and convenient than printed book. Through the internet, eBooks can get a lot of knowledge. Therefore, we use the multi-touch technology on the eBook reading and teaching strategy to produce the new type of interactive eBook which can achieve the purpose of teaching and learning. The system consists of two parts: eBook editor and eBook player. The eBook editor can quickly and conveniently edit eBooks without learning too much IT skills and reduce the gap in making eBooks for designers operation. Learners can manage the bookcase through our staircase-type structure and read the eBook through the touch screen. They can also summarize the focus knowledge by the cross-reference bookmark and the featured books. The mechanism can help Learners to achieve meaningful learning.
