隨著人們愈來愈重視美麗與外觀,美髮產業在近年來蓬勃發展,但長工作時數、肌肉骨骼傷害及化學藥劑暴露等問題會影響工作能力外,加上美髮業的高度競爭性及替代性,都可能影響人員的工作能力及生活品質。為了瞭解美髮業的工作能力與生活品質現況,本研究藉由標準化的工作能力指數問卷及生活品質問卷針對台中地區美髮人員進行調查,本研究共收集93份有效樣本,35位男性及58位女性。以職務區分,經理人/店長19人,設計師52人,助理22人。平均年齡只有27.31歲,平均工作年資為9.52年。
本研究之調查結果發現,在工作能力部份,平均工作能力指數為35.14分,工作能力分類為中等。男性及女性平均工作能力指數為37.26分及33.83分,工作能力分類為良好及中等;若以職務別來看,經理人/主管、設計師及助理的平均工作能力分數為38.42,34.10及34.77分,在三種職務中,僅有經理人/主管的工作能力分類可以達到良好等級。性別及職務均具有顯著差異性。在生活品質結果部份,男性有較佳的心理範疇生活品質;經理人/主管在生理健康範疇、環境範疇顯著表現較佳。助理在分數上表現比設計師好。經相關分析及迴歸分析結果發現,心智資源(I-7)比工作能力指數更適合用來預測生活品質;反之生理健康範疇比生活品質更適合用來預測工作能力指數。
經過調查之後,本研究發現台中地區的設計師及助理層級美髮從業人員的工作能力與生活品質表現僅為中等。因此,台中地區美髮從業人員是值得幫助提升工作能力及生活品質的一群人。
The hairdressing industry is quickly development in recent years in Taiwan. However, the work ability and life quality are affected by the characteristics of this industry, for example, prolonged work hours, musculoskeletal disorders and chemical exposedness. Moreover, the high competitiveness and high substitution of hair industry is very intensive. In order to realize the situation of work ability and quality of life for the employees in hair industry in Taichung City, a survey with Work Ability Index quationaires developed by Finnish Institute of Occupational Health and the quationaire for quality of life (WHOQOL-BRFT Taiwan Version) mainly developed by World Health Orgonization was conducted. The sample includes three job positions, manager/branch director, hairstylist and assistant. Ninty-three employees, including 35 males and 58 females, were finished these quationaires. The average age is 37.31 years and average seniority is 9.52 years.
According to the result of Work Ability quationaire, overall Work Ability Index (WAI) is 35.14 and the work ability cateroty is “moderate”. If the gender is condidered, the WAI for male and female are 37.26 and 33.8, and their work ability categories are “good” and “moderate” respectively. If the job position is condidered, only the work ability category for manager/branch director is good. There are significant differences of WAI between job positions and gender. According to the result of WHOQOL-FREF Taiwan Version, it was found that there is higher score for male in psychological domain. The scores in physical domain, environment domain for the manager/branch director category are higher than the oher categories. Finally, score of mental resource, the 7th item in WAI quationaire, is more appropriate to forcast the QOL score for these hair industry employees in Taichung City based on the results of correlation and regression analysis. On the other hand, score of physical domain is more appropriate to forcast the WAI.
It is obvious that the overall work ability and life quality performance are just moderate for the sampled hairstylists and assistants. Thus, some improvements and effort should be made to enhance their work ability and quality of life.
