This study examines the determinants of Taiwanese Listed firms’ asset downsizing behavior. The empirical results show that firms with low return on asset (ROA), low growth rate of sales and high leverage will engage in more downsizing strategy. We also find that market disciplinary and corporate governance has a significant effect on firms’ asset downsizing behavior.
