Design of UHF RFID tag antennas mounted on metal goods are presented. Three different RFID tag antennas, including the meandered dipole tag antenna with matching loop, the dipole tag antenna with coupling loop, and the tag antenna with shorting plate, were proposed in the present study. The tag antennas were mainly suitable the metals. The design of the meandered dipole tag antenna with matching loop was presented first of all, the matching loop and the meandered path can meet the size requirement, and its read range could be achieved 3.1 meters. In the design of the dipole tag antenna with coupling loop, the coupling loop size can meet the size requirement and conjugation matching, and its read range was 4.2 meters. Finally, in the design of the tag antenna with shorting plate, a slit was added to meet the size requirement, and its read range also reached to 3 meters.
