In recent years, business units engaged in micro-entrepreneurship gradually increases. According to the 2010 OECD report, SMEs in OECD Member States, has the percentage of almost 50%. However, the energy of creative of SMEs is considerable as enterprises for a long time. The purpose of this study is to understand success factors for micro-business. Therefore, the grounded theory is employed to explore entrepreneurial success factors. The purposive sampling method is employed to select more suitable and representative samples.
The research is conducted from human capital perspective and decision-making logic perspective. The author conductedinterviews with people currently engaged in entrepreneurial behaviors. According to data analysis procedures based on grounded theory, interview data are processed by open coding, axial coding, and selective encoding to construct criticalsuccess factorsrequired for entrepreneur-driven micro-entrepreneurs.
In order to analyze the critical success factors, the authorconducted individual and open interviews with ten entrepreneurs in the Shihlin night regarding their entrepreneurial behaviors.Accordingto the data analysis steps of the grounded theory, including open coding, axial coding, andselective encoding, the author finally extracted two core scopes, namely the human capital perspective and decision-making logic perspective, from the collected interview data. Based on the analysis of their mutual relationship, the successfactors are therefore constructed.
