  硏究顯示刺激特定的穴道能有效地降低血壓。在這篇論文中我們以波長808nm規格的雷射針灸刺激太衝穴,結果發現它的確產生即時降壓的效果。同時,心率變異也有顯著的變化,顯示此一降壓效果與自主神經調節有關。
 
  十八位高血壓前期的受試者簽下同意書後加入這項硏究。所有受試者接受太衝穴偽雷射針灸以及真實的針灸刺激,同時並記錄治療前後的血壓及七分鐘之心率變異。
 
  結果顯示經雷射針灸治療後,收縮壓及舒張壓均有明顯地降低(p < 0.005)。相較之下,偽雷射針灸治療後卻無明顯效果。心跳從每分鐘78 ± 12.31下降至72.50 ± 12.36下(p = 0.013)。心率變異方面,代表副交感活性的nHF從28.47 ± 16.68升髙到39.93 ± 18.83(p < 0.001),LF/HF自3.91 ± 0.75降至2.16 ± 0.41(p < 0.01),更進一步確定副交感神經活性的提升。
 
  總言之,這項研究證實雷射針灸作用在太衝穴上有即時降壓之效果。而且由心率變異數據可以了解,這項改變是經由穴位刺激自主神經系統而達成的
  It was reported in earlier studies that stimulating at certain acupoints may effectively lower blood pressure. In this study we chose 808nm laser acupuncture at Taichong (LR3) and found it indeed has an immediate effect in lowering blood pressure. Heart rate variability (HRV) suggested that this regulation may be triggered by autonomic nervous system.
 
  Eighteen subjects who were identified at early stage of hypertension were recruited in this study. All subjects received a sham laser therapy treatment first, followed by an activated low-level laser on Taichong (LR3). Blood pressure and 7-minute ECG signals were measured before and after each treatment. A signed informed consent was collected before participating in the study.
 
  Both the systolic and diastolic blood pressures decreased significantly (p<0.005) after the laser treatment, but not the sham one. Heart rate decreased from 78.28±12.31 to 72.50±12.36 (p=0.013). HRV analysis revealed that the normalized HF (nHF) increased from 28.47±16.68 to 39.93±18.13 (p<0.001) and LF/HF decreased from 3.91±0.75 to 2.16±0.41 (p<0.01), further confirming the active involvement of parasympathetic system.
 
  In conclusion, this preliminary study has shown that low-level laser treatment at LR3 is effective in lowering blood pressure immediately. A complete study on this short-term effect of laser acupuncture is warranted to understand the mechanism and the correlation between acupoints and autonomic nervous regulations.
