隨選視訊(Video On Demand,VOD)服務是近年來熱門的話題,以往討論的方法皆是以線性影片為主,隨著使用者的需求與期待,非線性影片也因此產生,例如棒球比賽的時況轉播,常常因應使用者的需求提供各方面不同角度的鏡頭畫面,這即是一種非線性影片的應用模式,使用者可以隨心所欲的選擇所喜愛之鏡頭畫面來觀看比賽。本論文針對非線性影片的傳輸配置提出排程方法,以近似HB (Harmonic Broadcasting)方法的頻寬分配方式,來表現非線性影片中,使用者可以選擇不同的影片片段來觀看整部影片,提高使用者的觀看意願並減少影片接收的等待時間。本論文提出的SHM (Similar Harmonic Method)方法,相較以往Yusuk et al.等人提出CCB3方法更能有效利用頻寬減少等待時間,且降低緩衝區空間的需求。

Video on demand (VOD) service is a popular research issue in recent years. Previously, most methods are designed to deliver a linear video-based. As the demand and expectation of the users, nonlinear video produces consequently. For example, a live broadcast of the baseball game often provides all aspects of screen shots from different angles for the needs of the users. This is a non-linear video application mode which the user can choose which scene they want to watch. This thesis proposes similar harmonic scheduling methods for broadcasting nonlinear videos. The user can select different video clips to watch the whole film. That will increase the user’s will and reduce the time for receiving the video. The proposed similar harmonic method (SHM) significantly reduces the waiting time and the buffer space requirements as compared to the CCB3 method.
