質子交換膜燃料電池中質量傳遞順暢與否,對燃料電池性能影響很大,尤其是在陰極側,氧氣穿透氣體擴散層的質傳效果,更是具有決定性的作用。本研究採用數值模擬的方法,以COMSOL分析軟體,對質子交換膜燃料電池中陰極質傳進行探討,以了解其對燃料電池性能的影響。
研究結果顯示,在燃料電池陰極流道中,氧氣濃度由入口處開始,沿著空氣流動方向逐漸降低,在觸媒層與氣體擴散層的介面亦然,因此導致電流密度亦由流道入口處起至出口處為止沿路下降,而降幅的大小則視供給的空氣量而定。若能供給充足的空氣則電流密度較能維持於不墜,否則到了流道出口處,燃料電池的電流密度將遠低於入口處,結果將造成燃料電池整體性能的降低。

The mass transfer in PEM fuel cells is the main factor affecting the performance of fuel cells. Especially in the cathode side, the effects of oxygen mass transfer through the gas diffusion layer are the most decisive ones. In this study, numerical simulations using the COMSOL software were conducted to investigate the cathode mass transfer in PEM fuel cell, with an aim to understand its impact on the performance of the fuel cell.
The results of this study show that at the cathode flow channel in the fuel cell, the oxygen concentration decreases gradually along the direction of air flow. The situation of the catalyst layer and gas diffusion layer are the same at the interface. It leads to the fact that the current density decreases monotonically from the channel inlet to the outlet, but the range of the decline is determined by the amount of supplied air. If sufficient air is supplied, the current density would not change substantially. Otherwise, at the outlet of the flow channel, the current density of the fuel cell would be much lower than that at the entrance. This results in the decline of the overall performance of the fuel cell.
