Neoclassical Realism as a rising grand theory should instruct other models, and improve the realist school’s difficult situation in security studies. Therefore, Writer tries to investigate the philosophy ground of Neoclassical Realism, the development of security studies, and its problem. Hope this thesis can expand a newly research model and an analysis structure. Overall, there are three main purposes in the thesis. First, to begin with the research achievements of Neoclassical realists, combine with state theory of Classical realism, and systemic theory of Neorealism. Writer intends to design a proper cross-level analysis model. Second, writer will discuss the critique to Neorealist school, also to talk about the challenging and response of Neorealist school in security studies. In order to define the main research agendas, then resolving it. Finally, take alliance theory, economic security, and ethnic conflict for example, writer tries to apply the analysis model of Neoclassical realism, then combing the complicate issues and policies nowadays, in order to explain the possible research aspect and case studies in the future.
