蘄艾又稱海芙蓉,生長於台灣與東南亞沿海的石灰岩及珊瑚沉積地區,被當作中草藥使用。這株植物傳統醫學用於治療感冒、麻疹、風濕與支氣管炎。研究指出蘄艾全草萃取物具有抗增生、保肝及抗發炎活性,但是僅有少數莖部具有抗菌、抗氧化與降血壓活性。蘄艾是一種祝明的中草藥,但其在野外並不常見。因此,本研究將對其主要化合物進行分析。有甲醇萃取物中共純化出十個化合物,經由儀器鑑定確定為:lupeol、β-sitostenone、octadecyl (E)-p-coumarate、cycloeucalenol、oleanolic acid、ursolic acid、stigmastan-3-one、betulin、ergone與24-ethyl-5α-cholest-7-en-3β-ol。此外,在生物活性部分則利用抗菌抑菌圈試驗;DPPH抗氧化試驗;ACE抑制試驗;以及MTT及t-BHP細胞試驗。
