火鶴花(Anthurium andraeanum)屬於天南星科(Araceae),火鶴花屬(Anthurium)的宿根植物,原產於哥倫比亞的多年生草本花卉,喜好高溫多濕環境,十分適合台灣中南部地區栽種。火鶴花佛焰苞顏色多彩鮮豔而造型優雅,具有極高觀賞價值與競爭優勢,為瞭解花色呈現之機制,利用色素分析進行相關研究,供未來新花色育種之參考方向。本研究分析12品系火鶴花佛焰分別有白、粉紅、紅、橘、紫、綠等六個色系,利用色差儀、高效液態層析儀及分光光度計進行花色素組成之分析比較,並利用組織切片與掃描式電子顯微鏡觀察色素分佈與表皮細胞形狀,以探討影響花色因子。經分析結果得知佛焰苞色素組成包括有葉綠素、花青素以及類黃素。主要花青素為矢車菊素(cyanidin, Cy)、天竺葵素(pelargonidin, Pg)以及芍藥素(peonidin, Pn)。白色系和綠色系佛焰苞含微量之Cy,粉紅色系和紅色系之差異主要為Cy及Pg含量之多寡,橘色系以Pg為主,其與紅色花之差異為Cy/Pg之比例高低。紫色系雖以Cy為主但含有Pn色素。色素分佈位置與組織pH值於各色系間差異不大,而扁平狀表皮細胞影響光線反射亦有限,因此花青素色素組成是影響花色的主要因子。
Anthurium andraeanum is a perennial plant in the arum family (Araceae) that originates from Columbia. It prefers high temperature and humid environments and adapts well in central and southern Taiwan. The spathe of anthurium is colorful and elegant which makes it a high value ornamental crop. This research aims to study factors affecting spathes colors by using pigment analysis. The information obtained may help breeders to create new colored varieties for the market. In order to study the pigment composition, white, pink, red, orange, purple, green, and six other colored spathes were analyzed with colorimeter, high performance liquid chromatograph, and spectrophotometer. Tissue samples were examined visually for pigment distribution and epidermal cell shape using a scanning electron microscope. The results showed that spathe pigments include chlorophyll, anthocyanins and flavonoids. The main anthocyanins are cyanidin (Cy), pelargonidin (Pg), and peonidin (Pn). Green and white colored spathes contain trace amounts of Cy; pink and red contain higher Cy and Pg; and orange spathes high in Pg. The color of red spathes is determined by the proportion of Cy:Pg. The purple color in spathes is mainly due to Cy but Pn also plays a role. The pH of the spathe and the distribution of pigments in the tissue did not differ significantly between spathes of different colors. Moreover, the relatively flat layer of epidermal cells allowed for limited light reflection, which suggests the main factor affecting spathe color in Anthurium is the composition of anthocyanin pigments.
