本研究收集2008至2011年間臺灣東北部海域(東經121.5-123度,北緯24.5-26度)拖網漁船航程紀錄器VDR(Voyage Data Recorder)資料,並透過拖網樣本船及其作業與航程航速之驗證,解明拖網漁船VDR資訊之動態特徵,再由地理資訊系統GIS(geographic information system)及Sufer軟體彙整本海域拖網漁船的空間分布及樣本船漁獲物種組成,以掌握本海域拖網漁業漁況特性。
結果顯示本海域拖網漁船以CT4噸級為主,由該漁業每1公里單位距離之VDR資訊證實,當推估船速介於2.22至3.7節間,可判定為拖曳作業;而船速高於3.7節或低於2.2節則分別判定為航行移動或慢俥整理網具與漁獲物處理。至於,本海域拖網漁船主要作業漁場之努力量(作業時數)透過地形特徵可分為彭佳嶼西北部平坦陸棚海域(85 %)、三貂角沿近岸水域(11%)及陸坡區(4%),重心呈現東西向季節性推移之現象。以彭佳嶼陸棚水域觀之,漁獲努力量每年秋冬季(10月至3月)時,努力量區域作業小時數達40小時/船/平方公里,大致集中於臺灣北部海域(121.5-121.7°E,25.5-25.7°N),春夏季4至9月時,努力量重心則向東側偏移約30海浬,努力量區域每船作業小時數約達116小時/船/平方公里,大致在彭佳嶼北部的平坦陸棚作業。至於,在漁獲物種亦呈現季節性之推移變化,4至5月間以印度絲鰺、平鰺及赤鯮為豐度較高之魚種,6月則以真鰺為主(5020.5公斤/船),而到了7至9月期間則以小卷為優勢物種(1338.13公斤/船),10月至3月間,則無明顯優勢物種出現。至於下雜魚CPUE之分布則顯示沿近岸水域之CPUE明顯高於陸棚區水域。
