This paper examines the trading strategy for Mongolian beef market and provides a list of
suggestions to improve the efficiency and productivity of Mongolian beef products.
Agriculture industry in Mongolia is an influential sector which accounts for around 15-20
percent in terms of GDP. Over 40 percent of total labor force is directly dependent upon
livestock industry. This thesis discusses the current state of the meat industry in Mongolia and
suggests changes that need to be made in the organization of the industry, management of
animals on farms and processing system. This research examines to improve efficiency and
productivity of Mongolian beef industry. Our contribution is fourfold as followings: (i)
introducing Mongolian beef market; (ii) identifying significant factors with respect to
Mongolian beef export; (iii) providing a case study of the leading company in Mongolian beef
industry to analyze their operational efficiency; and (iv) concluding this research with a list of
suggestions, for improving the economic value of Mongolian beef products as a whole.
Our results shed light on the trading strategy of Mongolian beef products.
