Extending and maintaining the interpersonal networks by using social network sites is a common phenomenon for online individuals. In addition, users’ continued use is critical for the success of any website. Therefore, this study focuses on exploring individuals’ continuance intention toward the social network sites. People would obtain the social support through their self-disclosures on the social network sites. In other words, social support can be seen as the benefits of the self-disclosure. In this study, social support can be distinguished into information support and emotional support. And then, this study hypothesized that self-disclosure would positively affect information support and emotional support. Further, information support and emotional support are theorized to affect satisfaction positively. Finally, satisfaction would be hypothesized to increase the individuals’ continuance intention. Data collected from 372 users of Facebook and conducted the analysis by using SmartPLS. The results indicated that individuals’ self-disclosure would positively affect information support and emotional support, which in turn have a positive effect on satisfaction. Finally, when online users more satisfied with the social network site, they would have the more continuance intention toward it. Implications for theory and practice and suggestions for future research are discussed.
