本研究主要目的在探討意義感的雙重建構,及獨立我(independent self)與互依我(interdependent self)對目的性與連結性意義感之預測效果。綜觀過去的研究,研究者發現生命意義感的定義似乎有兩種不同的建構,可分為目的性意義感與連結性意義感,但是此二種建構在概念及測量上並未被明確區分。王正平(2012)嘗試將生命意義感區分成二種建構,結果部份支持了意義感之雙重建構,然而該研究之因素效度、區辦效度、效標關聯效度均未完全符合預期。研究者探討造成上述研究結果之原因,並予修正。故本研究目的有二:(一)延續王正平(2012)之意義感雙重建構模式,並修訂其連結性意義感量表(二)探討獨立我與互依我對目的性意義感與連結性意義感之預測效果是否有所差異?以檢驗意義感雙重建構之區辨效度。具體言之,本研究假設獨立我對目的性意義感的正向預測效果會高於連結性意義感;互依我對連結性意義感的正向預測效果會高於目的性意義感。共執行二次問卷調查研究(研究一,N = 259;研究二,N = 250),研究結果顯示:雙重意義感的建構效度獲得部分的支持,顯示目的性和連結性意義感為二個不同的建構;在假設考驗部分:獨立我與目的性意義感間之相關,顯著大於獨立我與連結性意義感,故假設一獲得支持;互依我與連結性意義感間之相關,顯著小於獨立我與目的性意義感,故假設二並未獲得支持。
The aims of this research are to examine the dual model of meaning in life (Wang, 2012) and the effects of independent self and interdependent self on meaning in life. Wang(2012)proposed that meaning in life contains two subconstructs: “Purpose in life”(PIL)and “connection with others”(CWO). However, evidences form Wang’s study did not fully support the dual model. This research extends Wang’s study by improving the measurement of dual meaning in life, and examining the effects of independent self and interdependent self on PIL and CWO. The current study hypothesized that the relationship between independent self and PIL will be stronger than CWO, and relationship between interdependent self and CWO will be stronger than PIL. Two studies were conducted(Study1, N = 259;Study2, N = 250). The results show that the construct validity of “the dual model of meaning in life” was partially supported. Confirmatory factor analysis shows that PIL and CWO are two different constructs. However, the relationships of both independent and interdependent with PIL are stronger than those with CWO.
