無論哪一類型的傳統工藝和現代化的工藝產品，在生活上接觸到的各項產品當中，家具最能直接反應人們的生活方式，回應社會文明狀態。將理想、工藝和美感融入作品中，再將創作品融入生活與大家共同分享，這是非常有意義的活動，個人認為家具是相當重要的原物料，將好的設計作成一個代代流傳的作品，投入文化藝術的領域來傳承，人們在生活中能更加受惠。
家具是工藝的一部分，工藝也是文化的一部分，文化是從生活中衍化而來的，在文創方面，文化是最重要也是最核心價值，一件好的文創商品在人們的心中是相當高貴的。「工藝」是從過去傳承到現代，如果有好的工藝有好的傳承，加上文化元素，創意為執行的手段，就能把藝術投入與技藝結合成產業，透過產業的整合，於是文創的價值，就創造出的空間將大大的不同。
從歷史的過去到今日，家具除了生活，工作日常使用之外，經由人類社會活動的累積成為各個文化與文明，也逐漸成為人們心中的文化資產。研究家具的目的是評論經由創作家具讓歷史的元素真正的落實。
