養豬事業從興盛到1997口蹄事件，養豬業面臨到了發展的困境，除了技術的改良、環保的工作、自動化的控制，更須面對開放肉豬市場後，與其他國家市場的競爭，豬肉市場是不會落沒的，它是我們人主要的肉品來源。
垂直整合畜牧場，「商業利益」是整合的最主要因素，例如：投資飼料混拌廠主要是為了確保供需無虞，自行培育種豬則是為了創造良好的品種，加速豬隻的生長，使生產線有保障，也可取得較好收入，減少更多的成本。
本研究以垂直整合理論以及SWOT分析，配合半結構式訪談法，對屏東的養豬大戶中央畜牧場實施研究，結果追求「經濟效益」為主要目的，未來畜牧業經營必然是走合併、朝科技畜牧發展。經訪談該公司董事長及專案經理等2員，根據分析結果發現: 中央畜牧場透過垂直整合擁有「利潤增加」、「降低成本」及「風險降低」等績效，希望透過整合其他業務以提升營運、財務、管理效率，以創造綜效利益，也就是整合後的價值之和。

Before FMD in 1997 , the Swine industry had been flourished. The Swine industry is facing the dilemma of development, in addition to improved technologies, environmental work, automation control,more exposed to the open market of hogs, market competition with other countries. Pork market will not fall ; it is our main neat source.
In this study, to implement research in Pingtung Swine Farms Center by using the vertical integration of theory and SWOT analysis and the semi-structured interviews. The results are pursuing “cost-effective” as the main purpose which operation is to take the next inevitable merger livestock toward livestock Technology Development.
For direct integration of livestock farms, the “commercial profit” is the most important factor in this integration; such as the investment of Hunban feed mill is to ensure that the supply and the demand in no worries; self-cultivaion is to create a good breeding species, accelerating the growth of swine, so that the production line is secured, but also achieve better revenue and reduce more costs.
This case study uses unstructured interviews with the company’s chairman and two project managers. According to the analysis results, the Central Farm has reached the increasing profits, reducing costs, risk reduction the integration of other businesses to improve operational, financial, management efficiency in order to create synergy benefits, which is the value of the integration.
