Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study the long-term care for elderly nursing-type institutions, accepted institutions service contents, self-concept, social participation related to meaning of life predictability. The study sample based on Kaohsiung, Pingtung County long-term care nursing institutions, Stratified random agencies to take a long-term nursing care for the elderly for the study. We use a structured questionnaire survey to collect data. Data Analysis was based on differences in the test, simple correlation, simple regression, multiple regression and path analysis.
Statistical analysis of the results of research: 1.The study sample based on male; maximum of 65 years of age and younger than 74 years; Educated based on illiterate; Income status based on less than 10,000 / month; major diseases of hypertension; interaction ordinary between family; religion; identity based on their own expense; residence time based on More than one year up to less than three years. 2. At the level of services study samples for the general care of daily living, providing live action assistive devices (such as wheelchairs, crutches, etc.) and volunteers to assist the most important leisure activity. In the self-concept level study samples considered: Someone to take care of daily life and companionship, no matter illness or hospitalization return mechanism and physical health through music rhythm activities to promote physical fitness is the most important. The level of social participation involvement in study samples considered outdoor visits can increase knowledge and learning, enhance cognitive is the most important. In the meaning of life study samples considered they have a good life for their future expectations, and integrate their own life experience is the most important.3. multiple regression analysis service contents, self-concept, social participation and a sense of meaning to life in the study samples intended basic characteristics, Their respective namely gender, age, education level, income, major diseases, family interaction, religion and residence has individually significant predictive power up.
Study suggests:1. Nursing care recommendations based institutions: Strengthening institutional care service, improve institutional care services for the elderly self-concept, institutions care services for the elderly to maintain social participation, to construct institutional care services for the elderly have a positive sense of the meaning of life, strengthening institutional care services humane orientation.2. Institutionalized elderly nursing suggestions: Strengthen service contents, build positive self-concept, in order to enhance participation in social activities, continued to participate in various activities to build social support networks to enhance the meaning of life, and strengthen self-evaluation and self-integration, enhance the overall sense of the meaning of life.
