The purpose of the study was to explore the effects of Comic Strip Conversation on learning social skills of three junior high school students with autism. The study was conducted by using multiple baseline designs across subjects. The experimental independent variable is Comic Strip Conversation, and the dependent variable is social skills. Three phases were included, namely, baseline, intervention, and maintenance. Data were analyzed by visual analysis, graphic display, C statistic and interview. The results of this study were as follows:
1. Comic Strip Conversation had the immediate effects on improving the social skills of the junior high school student with autism.
2. Comic Strip Conversation had the sustained effects on improving the social skills of the junior high school student with autism.
3. According to the interview, the three participants and teachers had positive attitudes and were satisfied with the intervention effects of Comic Strip Conversation teaching strategy.
Based on the findings of the study, suggestions for the instruction and future research were provided.
