近來研究結果顯示環境刺激不足為兒童語言發展遲緩的主要成因之一,父母為兒童最常接觸的人,父母在與子女親子互動中表現出的行為,對於子女的學習和發展有重要的影響性。因此本研究目的在於探討家長行為與兒童語言發展的關聯性,並比較語言發展正常兒童和語言發展遲緩兒童的家長在親子互動中行為表現的差異。
本研究對象為1歲至2歲6個月的兒童與其家長,分為語言發展正常組和語言發展遲緩組,每組各10名,共收20名個案。針對兒童的語言發展,使用「零歲至三歲華語嬰幼兒溝通及語言篩檢測驗」(黃瑞珍等人,2009)評量兒童的語言發展表現。而在家長行為的評量則採用錄影觀察方式,先以數位錄影機紀錄每對親子互動的時間約15分鐘,再以Mahoney編制的「家長行為量表」(林初穗等人,2013修訂)評量家長在回應力、情感、成就及主導四個層面的行為。資料蒐集完成後,以兩位本科系研究生針對評分方式加以討論,再觀看親子互動影片,針對家長行為採五點量表的計分方式進行評分。
本研究結果顯示在親子互動的過程中,家長行為的回應力、情感、成就、家長行為總分等層面與兒童語言發展呈顯著正相關,其相關系數分別為r = .53、r = .60、r = .55、r=.61,但主導層面則與兒童的語言發展無顯著相關。而在組別表現的分析上,語言發展正常組和語言發展遲緩組兩組家長在回應力、情感、成就、家長行為總分等層面的表現具有顯著差異,而在主導層面兩組則未有顯著差異。
綜合研究結果發現,家長的行為表現對於兒童的語言表現是有顯著關聯的,尤其是家長針對兒童行為表現的回應力,在學習過程中促進成就的表現,及在互動過程中對兒童的溫暖和支持等情感表現,對兒童語言學習和表現有很大的影響。語言治療臨床工作者評估語言發展遲緩兒童時,了解親子互動情形的必要性,並針對家長行為對兒童語言發展的影響,提出有效的處置計畫,以促進兒童各方面的發展。

Introduction: The insufficiency of language stimulation was one of the major causes for the language development of children. Parents had contacts with children frequently in daily life, so the maternal behaviors would have large influences on the language development in children. The purposes of this study aimed to investigate the relationship between maternal behaviors and language development in children, and to compare the differences of maternal behaviors between the parents of children with typical language development and delayed language development.
Method: The participants in this study were 20 parents with children aged one to two and half. The participants divided into two groups: the parents of children with typical language development and the parents of children with delayed language development. Each group included ten subjects. Parents were videotape recorded for fifteen minutes while playing with their children. These observations were coded with the Maternal Behavior Rating Scale (MBRS, Mahoney, 1999) to assess the interaction of parents’ styles . In addition, we used Communication and Language Screening Test for Birth to Three Chinese-Speaking Infants and Toddlers (Huang, et al., 2009) to collect the information about language development of children.
Results: The results indicated responsive, affect, achievement orientation, and total scores of MBRS were significantly correlated with language development of children, and correlation coefficient were r=.51 to r=.61. But there was no correlation between directive scores of parents and language development of children. The parents of children with typical language development and delayed language development were significantly different in the scores of responsive, affect, and achievement orientation aspects. But there was no difference in directive scores between two groups.
Conclusion: To conclude the results of this study, maternal behaviors were correlated with language development of children. The responses of parents to children’s acts, promoting children’s achievement, and showing warmth and supports in parent-child interaction had large effects on language learning and performance of children.
When speech and language pathologist evaluated language delayed children, they should collect the information about parent-child interaction. To promote language development of children, speech and language pathologist could give some suggestions regarding the effects of maternal behaviors on language development of children.
